Nan Wynn was a singer who appeared in Hollywood films. Her voice was also heard in films for which she was not always credited, such as My Gal Sal (1942) and Good Luck, Mr. Yates (1943). She often appeared as a nightclub singer—Million Dollar Baby (1941) and Princess O’Rourke (1943) but played a beautiful native girl in the popular Abbott and Costello comedy Pardon My Sarong (1942). It’s no wonder that she was a GI Pin-Up Girl in the June, 1943, issue of Yank magazine. She also dubbed the voice of Rita Hayworth in You Were Never Lovelier (1942). In 1944 she appeared in the Billy Rose production of Cole Porter’s musical revue, Seven Lively Arts. During the late 1930s Wynn sang with many of the popular bands—those of Teddy Wilson, Hal Kemp, Raymond Scott and others--and even had her own radio show. It was with Wilson’s band that she introduced “You Go to My Head.”
